About Us

At 192 Market Street, Lodge #60 has been part of Elmwood Park's fabric long enough that generations of families have walked through the same front door. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is one of America's oldest fraternal organizations, and this chapter carries that legacy with real, local purpose: scholarship programs, veterans outreach, and community events that actually fill seats.

The Lodge is perhaps best known locally for its Special Needs Family Fun Night, a recurring event that draws praise from families who say they feel genuinely embraced here, not just accommodated. That spirit extends to the Saturday morning breakfast table, where members and guests alike pull up a chair and leave full, both in stomach and in conversation.

This is a members-driven hall, which means the experience reflects the people in it. At 4.6 stars across 31 reviews, the Lodge earns its rating through the warmth of its regulars and the consistency of its community programs, not through polished marketing. If you are looking for a place to belong in Bergen County, Lodge #60 is worth a visit.

What We Offer

Lodge #60 hosts a rotating calendar of events open to members and, on select occasions, the wider Elmwood Park community. The hall is available for private events including banquets, milestone celebrations, and organizational gatherings, with a full bar and kitchen-supported service.

Community programming includes the beloved Special Needs Family Fun Night, regular breakfasts open to guests, holiday parties, and charitable fundraisers that support local scholarship recipients and veterans. The Lodge also facilitates Elks National Foundation initiatives, meaning your membership connects you to a network of over 800,000 members nationwide.

Interested in joining? Membership in the BPOE requires U.S. citizenship and belief in God, and applications are reviewed by the Lodge membership committee. Dues are modest, and the return, measured in friendships, service opportunities, and a standing invitation to every event on the calendar, is considerable.

"Unprofessional management and unwelcoming venue. AVOID using this facility. Be sure to read your contract! They will not let you forget! We were relentlessly lectured for decorating tables with personalized water bottles & party favors. A baby shower is to be a joyful occasion. It's stressful enough preparing for the event. You don't need to show up at venue and be greeted like this. Go somewhere else."

A Proud Heritage

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
